A Little Bit About Me

Sometimes, when I’m feeling down, this is a little place I come to relieve those tensions and learn to make peace with myself.

I am 20 years old, live in the GTA (Canada), and I am a psychology major at the University of Guelph, in Ontario. When I was 9 years old, I developed an anxiety disorder that was not diagnosed until eight years later when I was 17 years old. Around this time, I was also diagnosed with depression, and was put on a medication to help with both disorders. I went off the medication only 3 months later, and turned to naturopathic medicine through a retired doctor in Nova Scotia who had left his Western practice to work as a naturopath. I rarely ever experience symptoms of my depression, because over the years I’ve practiced many coping mechanisms which work 95% of the time. My anxiety on the other hand, is always lingering over me. The slightest of things can actually set it off, even something as simple as entering a crowded room by myself can set it off.

I’ve decided to create this blog to share my experiences and talk about the stigma around mental health. I also like to do posts on things that are interesting to me at the time, so you may see some that are totally random and unrelated to mental health.

I hope you enjoy my page ❤
