Sometimes, when I’m feeling down, this is a little place I come to relieve those tensions and learn to make peace with myself.
I am 20 years old, live in the GTA (Canada) and I’m a psychology major at the University of Guelph. When I was 9 years old, I developed an anxiety disorder that was not diagnosed until eight years later when I was 17 years old. Around this time, I was also diagnosed with depression (a false diagnosis), and was put on a medication to help with both disorders. I went off the medication only 3 months later, and turned to naturopathic medicine through a retired doctor in Nova Scotia who had left his Western practice to work as a naturopath. I was also diagnosed in late 2017 with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). Both my BPD and anxiety are always lingering over me, and the slightest of things can actually set either of them off – even something as simple as entering a crowded room by myself, or a friend ignoring a text.
I’ve decided to create this blog to share my experiences and talk about the stigma around mental health. It’s now grown into a home for everything that’s going on in my life, and sharing my experiences as a millennial in 2018.
I hope you enjoy my site!
